It was a wonderful day!

On March 4th. I had the opportunity to help with the open house at the Draper Temple. What a choice experience that was.I was assigned to help in the baptistry.First I ushered people to the chapel by the baptistry,That was great because it is close to the beginning of the tour and it was great to see the peoples faces as they came in.While I was there,Richard Paul Evans came through,I said Richard in a quiet voice,he heard me and came over and shook my hand.He is one of my all time favorite authors,(he said he wanted my job).It was great to see him,and I have to believe that he remembered me,it was awesome. My second post was just outside the baptistry chapel,We were quite busy and the time went by fast.It was great to see the youth groups come through, there were quite a few. There were alot of people in wheelchairs, they seemed so happy to be there, which was great.Next I was at the baptismal font. That was so great.I loved the small children and watch them approach the font. Two lttle boys were very curious about it and after standing there for a minute or two one of them looked up at me and asked,Is it a hot tub or a swimming pool? That was priceless! It was a great spiritual experience and I so enjoyed being the Temple. It was an experience that only comes along once in a life time, and I am so greatful that I took the time to go.It takes 740 people per day to take care of the open house and it all runs so smoothly. Now I am looking forward to the dedication on March22,2009

Very Beautiful

Yesterday,Jan 31st,I went to the open house for the Draper Temple. In talking to other people I have learned alot about the Draper Temple. So I was real excited to tour it.That Temple is so beautiful. It was nice to see the granite that was from China, the wood on the inside that was from Africa,All the paintings that hung on the walls, all done by local artists. We have alot of talent right here in the Salt Lake area. The stain glass was so beautiful. I felt the spirit as I was in the Temple. It was an awesome experience. Now I am excited to tour the Oquirrh Mountain Temple when it is completed later this year.

A Very Scary Expeience

Hi everyone, just want you all to know that I am finally getting better,December 2008 was the worst I have ever spent. Now we have a new year and I just want it to be the best for my entire family.Starting the day before Christmas I wasn't feeling all that great,I just wanted Jan 1st to be here.Be Careful what you wish for.January 1st came and I spent a couple of hours in the after hours emergency, the diagnosis was pnemonia(sp) I was given a bag of fluids and a bag of antibioticsThen an air treatment to help me breathe.Home to bed.Jan2nd.back to the doctor, this time two shots of antibiotics another air treatment.Home to bedJan3rd back to the doctor, another shot of antibiotics and another air treatment. This time my oxygen levels had improved. The doctor said,You are a very sick lady, home to bed and do everything I was told so I would not have to go to the hospital. That was enough to get my attention,It has been a long road but I can say I do feel better.I did return to the doctor the following week and my lungs were much better.I was so weak that just talking on the phone wore me out,That was one scary experience. Now it is Jan.15th and I can stay up all day,YEAH!

What a Party!

Last night saturday 13th of december, we had our ward Christmas party.I am on the activities commitee,so this was my first. We had such a fun time.We served a nice HOT meal of marinated chicken, carrots, potatoes and gravy, rolls and a green salad. For dessert we served chocolate bundt cake ( can't get by without some chocolate) with peppermint ice cream. It was so delicious. We had the West Jordan High school madigals(sp) to start the evening, then after we ate we had the primary children do the nativity. And we sang christmas carols. We planned for 200 people, but we had to set up more tables. It was so nice to see so many of the inactive people there. Our ward is the biggest ward in the stake and we have the smallest building. It was standing room only ,but great. We had many people tell us how nice it was and that the food was hot.It was GREAT.
